Nomination papers for Whitman's May 19 annual Town Election became available as of Monday, Jan. 30, according to Assistant Town Clerk Dawn Varley. Nomination papers must be returned with 50 valid signatures of voters by 5 p.m. on Monday, April 2. Town offices that will appear on the ballot are: One Town Clerk for Three Years, vacated by Pamela A. Martin's retirment; One Selectmen for three years, now held by Daniel L. Salvucci; One Selectmen for one year to fill vacancy, previously held by the late Margaret C. McGillivray; One Assessor for three years, now held by Stephen H. Verrill; Two (2) PK-12 Whitman-Hanson Regional School District Committee members for three years, now held by Christopher W. Powers and William J. Egan; One Department of Public Works Commissioner for three years, now held by Dana Olson; Two (2) Public Library Trustees for three years; now held by Michael J. Ganshirt and Elaine M. Melisi; One Planning Board member for five years, now held by Elonie L. Bezanson; One Board of Health member for three years, now held by Ruth A. Burke.
