Kenneth T. Sheehan Sr., 76, a longtime resident of Whitman, died Thursday, Jan. 5 after a brief illness.
Born and raised in Boston, he was the son of the late Thomas and Cathy (Walsh) Sheehan. Ken had been a resident of Whitman for more than 42 years and for 35 years he had worked locally as a self-employed carpenter. He leaves his children Kenneth Sheehan Jr., of Whitman, Edward Sheehan and his wife Danielle of Hanson, Lynda Picardi and her husband Timothy of Hanover, and Nancy Gately and her husband Brian of Taunton, his brother Arthur Sheehan of South Boston (formerly of Wellesley), and his sister Catherine Sheehan Vogt of North Reading. He was “Grandpa” to Ben Sheehan, Olivia and Cole Sheehan, David, Mark, Heather and Julianna Picardi, and Christopher, Kimberley and Kelly Gately, and “Uncle” to Thomas Sheehan of Wakefield and Kenneth Sheehan of Lynn. He was the brother of the late David Sheehan. His funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 10 in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel (Route 58 at the rotary) in Whitman. Burial will follow in the Colebrook Cemetery, Whitman. Visiting hours will be held from 6-8 p.m., Monday, Jan. 9. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the American Cancer Society, 5 Manley Street, West Bridgewater, MA 02379. |
