Alice E. Wildes, 77, of Hanson died Thursday Dec. 29, 2011 at home. Mrs. Wildes was the loving wife of James Wildes for 54 years.
She was the mother of Lisa Nigro and her husband Joshua of Hanson and James Wildes Jr. and his wife Shani MacNeil of Canton. Alice was the grandmother of Kylie MacNeil, Devin MacNeil and Cassandra Nigro. She was the last of three sisters and one brother. Alice was born on March 28, 1934 in Lynn, to the late William and Eva Hill. Together, Alice and James called Hanson their home since 1962. She was a woman who was strongly devoted to her loving family. Alice was an active member of St. Joseph the Worker Church in Hanson. She was one of the founding members of the church’s chapter of the Sodality of Our Lady, and was a CCD teacher for many years as well as a participant in various church events. Alice loved to bake and was known for her cake decorating throughout the neighborhood. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph the Worker Church in Hanson at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 4. Visiting hours are 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3 at Leighton-MacKinnon Funeral Home 4 W. Washington St Hanson. Interment will be in Fern Hill Cemetery in Hanson. In lieu of flowers Alice’s family invites donations to The Home for Little Wanderers at the Development Department 271 Huntington Ave 2nd Floor Boston, MA 02115. |
