Robert D. Haskell, 70, of Apple Street, Tiffin, Ohio, died Sunday, Dec. 4, 2011, at his residence.
Robert was born June 19, 1941, in Haverhill, Mass., to the late William and Esther (Ross) Haskell. He marrried Doris E. Caswell-Wood in 1971. She still lievs in Tiffin. He also is survived by four sons, Joseph (Edy) Wood Jr. of Tiffin, Everett (Karen) Wood of Tiffin, Earl (Lisa) Wood of Weymouth, Mass., and Robert Haskell Jr. of Everett, Wash; seven grandchildren, Jennelle Herron, Kirstie Wood, Keesha Lawrence, Kassandra Wilson, Daniel Wood, Emily Wood and Lindsey Wood; three great-grandchildren, Jessica, Joliea and Kael; a sister, Lauretta (Richard) Boyce of Whitman, Mass; and nieces and nephews. Robert graduated from Holbrook High School in Massachusetts and then studied electronics and earned his chef's degree from Northeastern University Boston in 1971. He served in the Massachusetts National Guard. Robert was a cook for 40 years, most recently at Tiffin University for the past 15 years. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and was involved with the American Civil War Museum of Ohio, Tiffin. A private family service will take place at Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory, 214 S. Monroe St., Tiffin, OH 44883, (419) 447-3113, with the Rev. Jan Kucera officiating. Burial will be at Colebrook Cemetery, Whitman, Mass. Memorial contributions may be made to the Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Center, Fremont, or to Community Hospice Care in care of the funeral home. |
