Marion I. (Marcus) Chapman, 85, died Saturday, Nov. 5, 2011. The daughter of the late David and Margaret (McCreedy) Marcus, she was born in Boston on Jan. 5, 1926. She had been employed at the former Bank of Boston in the Mutual Funds and Investments department. She was an avid swimmer, swimming three to four times a week until two years ago. She enjoyed sewing, knitting and camping.
Wife of the late William H. Chapman Sr., she was the mother of William H. Jr. of So. Yarmouth, David and Paul of Hanson, Mark of Rockland, Maureen Chapman-Fahey of Hanover, Gail Hart of Hanover and the late Patricia Curtis. She also leaves a sister, Edith King of Connecticut, 16 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Visiting hours in the Sullivan Funeral Home, 2 Maquan St., at the corner of Rte 14 & 58 in Hanson from 4-7 p.m., on Thursday followed by a service in the funeral home from 7-8 p.m. Interment private at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Dorchester.
