Robert J. Miles, 67, died Thursday, Oct. 20 after a long period of failing health. He was the beloved husband of the late Theresa M. (McCabe) Miles.
Born in Oakland, Calif., he was the son of the late Richard and Margaret (May) Miles. He was a graduate of Abington High School with the Class of 1963 Robert was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy having served during the Vietnam War from 1964 -1967 and transferring to the Naval Reserves until 1970. Robert was a resident of Whitman since 1971. He was a devoted husband and father. His interests included golf, vacationing and cars. He had a long career with General Motors, as a customer service representative. He leaves his daughter Amy (Miles) Dion and her husband Bill of Tyngsboro, his sister Donna Marie Miles of Garden Grove, CA , his aunt Phyllis Miles of Holbrook, a close cousin Jean Carroll of Abington and many more cousins, nieces and nephews. His funeral services will be held at 8:15 a.m., Monday, Oct. 31 from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel Plymouth Street (Rt. 58 at the rotary) Whitman, followed by a Mass at 9 a.m. in the Holy Ghost Church, Whitman. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Brockton. Visiting hours will be held from 4-8 p.m., Sunday Oct. 30. |
