Police arrested three men on Saturday, charging them with possession of a Class B drug with intent to distribute, possession of a Class B drug and trafficking in cocaine. After receiving information about an alleged drug transaction, police initiated a motor vehicle stop on Rt. 18 (Bedford Street), according to Police Chief Christine May-Stafford. The vehicle was searched and 688 pills of oxycontin were found, she said. The street value of the pills was $10,000. “Sunday we received information that an individual was making a large delivery and we were fortunate to stop him,” said Detective Steven Drass. Police arrested William Bowman of 75 Charles Street, James Burrill of Rockland and Sean O’Connell of 654 Bedford Street. All three parties had large quantities of cash on them, which police believed was related to the drug sale, said May-Stafford. “It was an ongoing investigation, as far as watching [Bowman] selling the pills several times,” said Drass. Burrill and O’Connell were not under surveillance by the police, but they were in the vehicle at the time of the bust, said Drass. “The money and the vehicle were both seized along with their cellphones and put into evidence,” said Drass. |
